George Crooks, COO, NHS24, Scotland

Dr George Crooks is currently the Clinical Director/Chief Operating Officer for NHS 24 where he is responsible for the delivery of all NHS 24 clinical services and the development of new services in partnership with other NHS organisations. George was recently also appointed as Interim Medical Director for the Scottish Ambulance Service.

George was a General Practitioner in Aberdeen for 22 years and his past appointments have included Director of Primary Care with NHS Grampian with responsibility for all community-based independent contractor services. George has a particular interest in the field of unscheduled care and is currently one of the national leads for the Unscheduled Care Collaborative in Scotland.

Current areas of interest for George include the use of technology to support the delivery of high quality patient care to the population of Scotland.
